I have too many books as it is so not looking for yet another bound book. Therefore when the pdf version might be released? At relaunch sometime during summer?

bok bok bok.....

it has been delayed at the request of the retailers, so yes probably summer. However if you buy a book, Matt is looking at ways to distribute a PDF to you.
it's all in the forums man! ;-)

Depending on what you already have then you could order from Leisure Games - they ship international - Europe is 20% on top of the price.

THey have a bundle of the rulebook in print and from Bits and Mortar do the PDF. I got my print copy two days ago after they restocked but I had the PDF about an hour after ordering. That bundle is 22GBP, so 26.40GBP including shipping for you (Finland isnt it?).

That cannot be too bad in cost terms if you have nothing to hand. THis won't work if you have the rulebook in solid form already obviously and depending on how much the PDF is planned to retail for obviously the cost might be higher than PDF alone - BUT it would get you a PDF rulebook very soon.

They have pdf available that way already?

That just might be the ticket then! I'll look into it rightaway. Thanks a lot :) Albeit that gives me less useful dead-tree version of rulebook(I figured for dead print usage I could do with the mini books that come from fleet boxes) but if the price for bundle isn't THAT different(I might be able to estimate upcoming pdf price based on the NA rulebook) then guess it doesn't hurt. Except my poor book shelf already groaning under weight of books! Though I'm just about to get rid of bunch of excess books so guess one back doesn't hurt...Right?-)

And yes I have _nothing_ at the moment. No rulebook as I was waiting for pdf version and no models as I'm waiting for next week to absolutely KNOW that I get bunch of models sold. Okay so technically it's just a formality(I already received the money! It's just delivery(which will be done face to face due to it being lot more convenient even though it's 200km drive...But even with gas price the amount of packets and the fact they contain lots of resin not much more expensive than post...And they are more likely to come in one piece! And I don't have to worry about packing ridic amount of resin models postage-safe so less of annoyance. Especially as I'll be able to visit goddaughter while I'm at it which is always a bonus) but I don't want to take ANY risk of him suddenly backing out after all. I already had 221e sudden expense. Gold necklaces ain't cheap :-< Especially with diamond in it to boot.

edit: Bought. Yey! Thank the UK for their cheapish postage prices ;) There's gaming stores in Finland who charge more for in-Finland shipping...Not to mention there's no bits&mortar stores in Finland(tad surprising)

(sure hope friday night doesn't slow down pdf delivery. Would like to read during the weekend!)

Yes. I emailed Matt about the Bits and Mortar scheme, which is where this PDF access comes from, and he told me when it went active - so I went to the shop and looked for the combined bundle. I had the PDF about an hour or so after putting the order in (you get an email for a download link as and when the vendor processes the sale, so weekend and out of hours orders may take longer for the link to appear).

THe Bits and Mortar basis is that the PDFs are free. So the bundle from a Bits and Mortar vendor will not be more expensive. I think the price that particular vendor had the book alone at is the same as the bundle - but I am not sure they even list the book alone anymore.

Well Bits and Mortar hasnt been around long and a LOT of people have never heard of it. They are a third party in all this. Its beginning to take off in the US but here in the UK we are lagging behind. My FLGS is a decent store and they are not part of it (so I am badgering them). Find your regular store and get them to look the scheme up on the web and enquire for details - then you could get them to join. I suspect as more people hear about the scheme more stores will join so as not to lose sales and more publishers will join to maintain market share.

Go promote Bits and Mortar, I say......

Well. Probably won't get it today then but maybe tomorrow? They seem to be open on saturday's too.

I'm talking about compared to plain PDF. Since I don't have big need for the dead-tree version I'm basically paying tad more for the pdf version compared to pdf version(about 10£ more or so).

However it's not that bad price and I get it sooner.

Well Bits and Mortar hasnt been around long and a LOT of people have never heard of it.

Have heard it but hadn't found one that delivers to Finland yet. Especially in UK(shipping prices from America lot more).

Find your regular store

Don't have one. No stores within 100km that sells at least on decent quantity gaming stuff(now albeit there might be some toy store selling few items but no big store). I buy everything via internet anyway so I go where I can get it cheapest/most conviniently/from the publisher themselves straight up.

Not going to go to the trouble of getting finnish stores join it. Why pay Finnish extra? Can't even try to point "need to support FLGS so they won't disapear" because I don't HAVE FLGS(under 10k town. As far as I know I'm only one playing these in here. No wonder nobody bothers to sell RPG/miniature stuff. Totally unfinancial proposition). 150km one way trip(120km one way would be shorter but at least 150km trip I can visit my goddaughter while I'm at it) is too excessive. Ergo as far as I'm concerned they are web store same as leisure games, maelstrom, wayland games, amazon or whatever.

I prefer pdf versions. The lack of index makes searching for rules a pain, it's much quicker when you can ctrl-f in Acrobat. I bought the hard cover (already out of date, sigh :D) last week because I was unable to find a pdf version.

So it looks like I have to pay full again from Bits and Mortar? Is there anywhere else I can buy the pdf? Hopefully for some kind of discount? Tried Drive Thru RPG but got no matches...

Yeah if you already have the book then you alas have to pay for full price on bits&mortar or wait for drivethru version which probably comes within 6 months. And no discount from there either except for the usual PDF price discount.

And I hear ya PDF is lot more convenient. Since buying from B&M the dead tree version has sit on my shelf while PDF version has been used.

For all the good the deadtree version does I might just as well throw it in garbage bin...
