Star Fleet Ships on Pre-Order + Special Offer!

First week of December I believe, so likely starting week commencing the 5th.

Rather terrifyingly, I've just pre ordered the rules, the Klingon and the Federation fleet boxes and spent my Christmas budget in one go.

I wonder what that means to stateside distribution? I pre-ordered all the same from my FLGS.

Plus side, no doubt there'll be a tournament in Jan or Feb and this way I'll have a painted fleet.

There will indeed :)

Any guess'tamate on how long it takes things to make it to the US? If it all ships from your end in the first week of Dec, I'm thinking that it could be Jan/Feb to actually make it to the players. This could sink participation in the first tourney.

All ships are made in the US (in our facility in Ohio!), so the odds of US players getting hold of ships is pretty good :)

Made in U.S.A., huh? Paul Franz was raising fears about the cost of getting the resin minis transported to the U.S. in his podcast. (Love ya Paul, but I wish you'd do a little research before discussing these things). Looks like that won't be an issue after all.

So I can assume that my USA pre-order deals from the MGP webstore should be arriving by the 2nd week of December?

That would be happy happy joy joy joy.

Depending on the USPS, hopefully - at latest it _should_ be early the week after. We are gauging demand at the moment and beavering away to build up stock, but we may send out the rulebooks first, followed by Squadron sets, followed by the fleet sets, so we can get as much as possible to you all in as short a space of time as possible.

Might I ask who it is and where in Ohio? Are they owned by you guys, or do they do you outsource manufacturing to them? I happen to live in the Cleveland, Ohio area, so it's exciting they are so close!

Great! So it is possible I will get them before the new year. Maybe not though. Since I ordered through my FLGS the book and mini's need to get to the distributor first and then the shop.

Possible but very much dependent on which distributor and how important their XMAS push is. The local shop uses 3 distributors and all of them have ACTA:SF in a pre-order status which make s the odds a bit better....

I ordered just 2 fleets. Those come with the pocket editions correct? I figured I will get the big book later. The only reason I did it was to get models asap and I suppose I was a little bit suckered in by the freebee command ship...... :P

Ordered the Rulebook & a constitution class (Painting it up for my dad's birthday next month). Here is hoping my Black Friday sales go well enough for me to preorder some more ships :D

does that mean there will be a player base in Ohio (I hope)?

Semi-related note: Did I hear a rumour that shipping 'overseas' (in this case to Canada) was capped to a certain ££?

I think I remember hearing that on this forum but I have no idea what terms to search for to find the post.

Kettering - and yes, they are 'us,' so to speak. Go round their office and warehouse, and you'll see 'Mongoose' on the door :)

Just a quick one too - is the free command ship offer on mutiple orders or 1 per client on the first £100 order?

You can certainly have multiple orders and Command Ships!

Matt,

Quick question - when do the pre-order start landing?

At the moment, we are looking at the week of the 5th to start shipping out. However, I will say please bear with us, as there are already a lot of orders and all our guys are doing right now is cast more ships!

I've got a couple questions regarding the Fed Command Cruiser offer.

You said its for pre-orders, I therefore assume the deal will no longer be available once the CTA stuff has officially released?

If so, will there ever be another chance to get a Federation CC?

Just curious, as while I've ordered the main book through my FLGS, I probably won't have the free cash to make a large minis purchase until after Christmas, but was really wanting to get one of those F-CCs. I think the forward swept warp pylons are quite sexy, I'd love to have them on the normal CA if I could!

Also, the nagging needs-specifics part of me is curious, msprange mentioned if we ordered $150+ worth of stuff from a local source (gotta support the hobbyshops ) and sent you proof of the purchase and other information you'd "sort you out". Would that be before or after tax? As my planned minis purchase would be a Klingon Fleet Box, a Fed Squadron Box and a blister of Fed Frigates, and that only meets $150 after taxes. Though I suppose I could get a War Destroyer... :P

Yes, the Command Cruiser offer will disappear after everything goes 'live' but there will be plenty of other opportunities to grab one in 2012.

I am afraid it has to be $150 before taxes!
