SST:WOTS release date

I was just wondering if how reliable the August release date is going to be. also, does anyone no if the rulebook will be released any earlier than the models, as I would like to get an army, but will need the new army lists before I purchase any models.

You can definately start buying figures now, in bargin bins even. I don't know what army you plan to play but the MI, bugs and skinnies won't change that much. Better figures maybe but I'm sure some will stay the same.

I've got a paper box full of figures still waiting for me to assemble and paint. I'm going to go with many of the classic figs. :)

James / Nezeray

From the sound of things the minis were supposed to be repackaged and relaunched in the new layout c.3-4 months from the first of the year. I'd guess that would include anything not getting a resculpt. The first resculpts will probably start releasing ASAP to start building interest for the game's formal release this summer.

The blog says that now the release date is August.
I think this is a more likely date than what was originally suggested.

A lot of my minis are going to be 'classics' as well. :?

does anyone know if the cap troopers will be easier to assemble? or will the lami have clasic movie moritas? im just wondering :D

Sorry, the "classic" moritas were phased out four weeks before pluto, and have been turned into lamps for old veterans of the 'whining continuity wars'.

Lol, there all collectors pieces found on ebay many have the entry:-

One old Morita rifle, Good condition. Slight clawmarks on the barrel, never been fired and only dropped once. :P

praise the lord, thank you for whoever thought of metal figs!!, but i do hope they leave the old ones out for cusomization.

Yup, leaving some plastics for infantry would be an excellent idea - unlike metal plastic allows easy re-posing and customisation of models, thus allowing to avoid those "attack of the clones" armies :)

I have a question, and I'm sorry if this has been discussed already or is "common knowledge".
So Starship Troopers: War of the Species is the second version of the Starship Troopers Miniature Game, in a way replacing what Starship Troopers: Evolution was going to be. My question is are the original miniatures going to be used for the new line? Or will new miniatures be produced?

Yes to both. Some are getting a resculpt/repose.

The existing minis can be used with very few exceptions that I'm not sure I can leak. Here's a list of ones that will be resculpted or removed:

Has it been decided yet if there will be a box set or seperate rule book and units at launch?

I remember really liking the starter box but then now it might not work for existing players. Both approaches work just wondering if i missed that?

I'm sure when all this evo business started originally we were given an August launch.
As August approached this was shifted to Christmas.
Christmas becomes new year, new year becomes August and the cycle starts again. Finally evo gets pulled in favour of this...

Best we can hope for is War of the Species gets released at some point :D

I'm really hoping there's a boxed set. Although with the emphasis on metal minis that might be harder to do, it would be great to have. The old boxed set was a great deal, and other products have had success with it (check out the newest edition of Battletech).

worst comes to worst theyl come out with the rule book and templates and tokens seperately kind like opocolyps, maybe they will mak a mobile infantry back pack bundle like the imperial gaurd back pack, lol

There needs to be a boxed set.... I understand most of the people that have been playing for a while might not want to dish out how ever much it is and get the models tehy might not need, but to properly keep the game alive new people need to get sucked in. And thats much easier with a starter box.
