SST plastic figures

Will the new edition plastic figures still be made from that hard to glue hard plastic or are you changing to softer plastic (that can actually be glued with plastic glue)?

That was one thing I didn't like with your SST line. Not that it stopped me from buying your stuff or anything, but all the shoulder pads and other details kept dropping off the figs all the time until I changed to using green stuff and super glue.

Better plastic would be appreciated...

With the right glue, the current plastics are no problem. I use a liquid cement for ABS plastics called Plastruct Plastic Weld. It is just one example that I found locally in a model railroad shop.

You're not alone in having gluing trouble. Hopefully for future plastic releases, Mongoose can insert a small instruction sheet with a comment to use "X type of glue for the plastic in this box" with X being some specific product recommendations. It would help beginners or even those kit building veterans who might be stuck on one type of glue (forgive the pun).

While we're on the subject of plastics, I'm hoping for plastic LAMI. I have a feeling they'll be metal but it is would still be great to see them done well in plastic.

Never had any problems with the SST plastics - Pattex SOS worked perfectly with both MI and Arachnid models.

For me it is IPS Weld-on (either #3 or #4). It's for making acrylic bonds between sheets, such as with a fish tank or dust case. I've used it with great results on plastic models for over 30 years (!).

Col. Hammer, I'm not even sure that the new M.I. models will even be plastic, as many are being retooled for metal. :?:

I personally prefer the harder plastic to softer because it's easier to work with when reposing. On the other hand, there is more work for removing them from the sprues and dealing with multiple contact points. And yet still there is nothing like the weight of a metal mini in your hand and the subtle "thud" of it as it gently hits the table.

If we get ball joints on metal minis with 5-8 pieces tops and I'd be more than content. Best case for flexibility without the headache of assembly:
2 Legs
2 arms
torso
head
weapon

Since I pin everything this will mean I'll be taking months to assemble and MI army.

I've assembled warmachine steeelheads before (6 metal pieces) and a number of other multi piece metal kits, and every time it has been a ball ache.

I'm happy with plastic kits, or at best 4/5 pieces. And drilling nipples are a must.

I use super glue, easy solution. Generally cheaper too as less is needed.
I throw them against the wall (the warriors) for fun generally, knowing fully well that they can take a lot of pain.
They do break, I do not recomend it! :P
