[SST] Independent models, swarming

Galatea

Mongoose
Independent models
The rules say independent models can join units or seperate from them any time.
Can independent models join other independent models (which are 'one-man'-units in fact)?
Can an (independent) brain bug join another brain bug?
And can I attach 10 control bug-ripped MI Cap Troopers to a burrower?

Swarming
And what about swarming rules. It sais 'any bugs of the same species'. Can two tankers swarm?

Yes to all, though you might not want to have two brains form a unit, as they would then take actions as a unit. Personally, I think that it would be better to leave them seperate so that they can do whatever they need to do.

Correct again.

but you get to decide if they are together every time you move them, so it makes sense as you can combine models and take coordinate actions with bigger units.

Plus teaming them up means they'll be treated as single unit instead of two separate units, thus triggering only one reaction.

when you have independant models act together, it's on an ction-by-action basis right? Rather than forming a new unit by having a sargeant spend a ready action to take in the members of a leaderless squad.

yup, as each of them can decide to be a one model unit again and no one is left 'out of command' so under the current rules, three brains in a unit are no different to three separate brains (except they could be joined by a single burrower and all gain tunnel 6")
