Speed while adrift

I'm a bit uncertain about how far a ship running adrift should move if its speed has been reduced.

Suppose an Explorer, whose original speed is 4, takes a Fuel Systems Ruptured critical, reducing its speed to 0; then it takes an Engines Disabled critical, putting it adrift - does it start moving again now it has no engines?

What about a Hyperion with original speed 8, which is crippled and has taken an Engines Disabled critical - does it drift at speed 4 (half original speed) or speed 2 (half its crippled speed)?

The Hyperion fixes its engines, but then loses its final damage points. Now how fast does it drift?

Page 9, Running Adrift:
the ship is moved at half its current speed in a straight line in the End Phase
So the Explorer would move half of 0 which is 0, and the Hyperion would move half of its current speed, which due to being crippled is 4, so it would now move 2.

When a ship is destroyed it drifts at half the speed it would have moved if it were still alive, including crits. So if your explorer was destroyed it would still move 0 due to the -4 speed crit. If the Hyperion repaired its crit then it would be speed 4 due to crippling, and drift half of this, 2. I think most people (including me!) forget about the crippling and move it at 4, though. Will do it right from now :)

Thanks! That's what I thought but I wasn't entirely sure.

Just to be clear: suppose a ship starts out intact and takes enough damage from one shot, e.g. a really good beam, to take it straight to 0 Damage, i.e. Stricken: Adrift. It never spends any time alive and crippled, but if it's at 0 Damage then it's below the Crippled threshold. Would this ship then also drift at 1/4 original speed, i.e. 1/2 Crippled speed?

I would say it should be 1/4 speed, half due to being below crippled threshold and half again due to being below 0.
