Sorcerous Flight- more floating gently?

So, the Fly spell for Sorcerors allows you to fly at 1m per round. Lets assumme you have grimoire skill of 60%, on an average SIZ 10 person you could fly a mighty 3m per round.

Average walking speed is 8m per round.

At 100% Grimoire you could just manage a flight speed equal to your walking speed.

So is it just me or is Fly better renamed as 'Float Gently'? Because you certainly dont seem to be swooping anywhere. Or is it better thought of as Telekinesis

Incidentally, can Flight and Haste be combined to travel at Superman speed?

Average SIZ for a human is 13. Fly can be a bit of a game-breaker so it may be deliberate that it hasn't been scaled up to Superman levels.

So what do we think- would haste and Fly stack?

I would say no, as there is clearly a mechanic built in to deal with flying speed, you just need to have a high skill or a small target. If you want to fly fast, just Tap your own SIZ, what's the problem? (Or you could wimp out and stack Diminish SIZ with the Fly, so with your 60%, an average person hits the SIZ 1 cap and moves at 5m - still not very fast I suppose)

OK, I think the Fly spell needs a buff. Maybe we're reading the 3-for-1 the wrong way around? Does a 10% increase in skill really only increase the move rate by 1m? Yes, I think that must be it, 10% increase gives 3 SIZ which can be exchanged 3-for-1 to get 9 move rate. Otherwise it would say "A sorcerer can affect a target of up to 3 SIZ, or increase the speed my 1m, per 10% of his Sorcery (Grimoire) skill."

It's really what a GM wants in their campaign... zooming superheroes, fine. Sorcerous mages (à la the traditional "Antichrist model"), merely floating, also fine.

My opinion is that it's up to the GM what he wants.
