Sorcerors and cult responsibilities

With divine or spirit cults, failure to adhere to the requirements of your rank are easy to punish. Divine cultists can lose access to their magic or be pursued by spirits of reprisal, and spirit cultists might also be pursued by spirits, or a shaman's fetch can make his life difficult in any number of ways.

I can't think of any such mechanic for sorcerors, though. If an Adept wanders off and doesn't make his/her 25% money contribution or attend services, what then? Are the consequences entirely mundane, and imposed by the cult hierarchy if they don't have a decent excuse? They will lose access to the grimoire, so they can't learn new spells, but there's nothing in the rules to prevent them spending IRs on their grimoire skill without access to it.

I guess the repercussions would have to depend on the nature of the sorcery cult. If they are malicous they could send assassins after the outcast member. Less servere punishments could call for the return of cult items or property, if the character has any. Who says you can't have them erase the characters memory of the spells he's learned as well.

Or you get a visit from an order like the Saint Atrox Brotherhood (who ensure obedience) or one of a couple of very specific 'forget the path and you're in a world of hurt, sunshine' orders to be found in 'The Abiding Book'.
