Mongoose
I was at Salute this weekend, and amongst the stalls I visited was Gamers. They had a truckload of cheap RPG books, I picked up OGL Horror for £5 (Yay!)

They also had 2 copies of A:2089 main rules, I say had, because atsome point during the day someone bought one of them, not me, I already have 2 complete sets of A:2089 book.

So someone is still interested in the game.

If it was you that bought it, please post on here, I like to discuss the game with others.

Self appointed forum expert on A:2089

I loved the novel but have not seen the rules - I was told it was very D20 stat heavy - that being so - are they worth getting for fluff? (I did that with much of the conan range - love the books - dislike the system (even if it is better than D20 or shudder Savage Worlds )

:D

Oh it is very crunchy with stats and the like, but the fluff is also good.

I bought the core book off the back of the novel and all 6 supplements off the back of that (2 of them fof the guy that wrote the main book). I then picked up a complete second set off of Ebay.

What can I say, I realy like the setting, I just need Mongoose to bring out the other 4 novels in the series.

So are all the books OOP now? What about the Novels?

Daniel

PRetty much, Mongoose may still have some, as might some shops, but the books are, to my knowledge, OOP.

DTRPG has some of them in pdf form.

PRetty much, ....

Too bad, I missed this one and it does look interesting as a background.

I saw a referance to novels as well?

Is there a complete listing of what was published somewhere?
(I did not see one on Mongoose's page)

Thanks

Daniel

Two seconds.....

A complete A:2089 list, you can still pick up some of the books on Ebay, and try contacting Mongoose direct to see what they have in stock

There was a scheduled supplement called Armour : Upgrades from Mystic Eye Games, but it never got produced to my knowledge.

Any help?

Yes, wonderful. I am going to check this one out more.

I am lucky, I have three game stores within an hour drive of my house so I am going make a few calls.

Thank You!

Daniel

You're welcome, Isee you're in the US, so I won't pass on the intel I have on copies within the UK, but there is always Ebay

http://search.ebay.com/search/search.dll?from=R40&_trksid=m37&satitle=Armageddon+2089&category0=

If you have any questions about identifying books in individual lots, feel free to ask me, PM me a link, etc.

Well if you read enough A:2089 you'll realise we Brits need you Americans in about 80 years time tofight the opposing Euro Forces preventing us from having our independence

For what it's worth, I have all the books (two in e-form, admittedly, although I printed one in its entirety...).

I've been working on a Traveller conversion of the rules for my own personal use, because I think the Traveller rules would be a very good fit for the A:2089 universe. Maybe if I ever get it to readability form, I'll make it Traveller OGL compatible (minus the A:2089 specific stuff, of course, don't want to step on anyone's toes, so I guess it would be more like a generic Mek supplement for Traveller) and put it online or something. Or be really crazy and see if Mongoose wants to do anything with it... (A guy can dream, can't he?)

I've also been tossing around the idea of starting a brief game on RPoL, to get a better feel for the rules as they currently are. Anyone interested?

FP, dreaming big dreams.

Well if the author MJ Dougherty is the same MJD who wrote the Traveller Spinward Marches book, then it might be possible to get something for this setting using the Traveller rules...

At least we have someone who has worked both sides of the fence...

MJD wrote the novels, I don't recallseeing his name on any of the gamebooks for A:2089 (Could be wrong though) , though it is the same MJD as did Spinward Marches.

By the by, I bought two of the A2089 supplements from Ian Sturrock on Ebay, he who wrote the main rulebook for A:2089
