So, Sell me on VaS

I'm generaly not too choosy about which system I play, I don't know about the rest of you, but I much prefer the actual Collecting, sculpting and painting to playing, but I do enjoy a good fight or campaign every now and then.
I randomly found this site while searching for internet resources, and whether or not i start playing, this place and it's members is a gold mine for the model ship hobby, so I've never played VaS before, or even heard of it before I got here!

I just want to know, what does VaS have that any of the rest don't?

On a sliding scale with "Simple" on one end and "Convoluted" at the other, I'd put it at the simple end.

It's a great way to break into this little corner of the gaming rainbow if you have never tried naval games. If you have already played other naval rules, it is an option for an afternoon of naval gaming. It will let you finish what you started most probably more consistantly than using any other system.

In other words, VaS is a 'gateway drug' to naval wargaming.

Not only is it simple to learn, Its actually easy to play, so, If you want fiddly details then this may not be the game for you

Also on the plus side it is relatively quick to play, You also get enough counters with the rulebook that let you try out all the navies in the book before comitting to buying the ships and /or planes

when you need to print out the playsheets there are a couple of fan sites like "burgers" that have done all the hard work for you and just let you select from a list.
