So Matt, about those 10 ships....

I think you are right about the ships fragility - its one of thos diffcult ones to balance (like the WS) as against some opponents - Liati, emines, it will die quickly whereas other fleets will find them a nightmare.

I'd leave its Beam at the same range as the WS - but then I would not reduce the WS beam either............

re fighters - sorry probably misrembering!

Meh, seemed only fair to give the Darkstar the same nerf. The fragility of the ship I think counter balances any advantages. Even fighters are a serious threat.

my memory also says that the teep delivery is in a converted transport howver given my memory thats why I will be having another look tonight.

That's what I recall, standard EA transport for transferring the "weapons systems"

LBH

I think I'm going to try that, if it becomes to overpowered in the campaign I'll just nerf them. The biggest difference I'm seeing is that the shields make it harder to 'plink' to death, but without the adaptive armor things like Emines and Accurate guns rip it to shreds.

Accurate weapons will kill a Dark Star easily but then again, that's the case against a White Star too.

I really think you need to use its manoeuvring ability to regenerate shields and damage as much as possible to get it to work but haven't really tested whether a reduction in range would hinder it too much or bring it into line with the White Star...

Like I said, I'm gonna use 4 of them in a Psi Corp campaign fleet. We'll see how they perform over the course of the campaign. Though I guess my impressions will have to be posted on the new forums since thats gonna take awhile.

Well had a look at both ships;

Anna's shuttle appears in the last few minutes of "Shadow Dancing". 2 very short sequences. Ship detaches from a Shadow Cruiser (backwards) then comes towards the viewer to exit shot. Other sequence ship flies towards viewer. In total maybe 5 to 6 secs coverage only.

The "teep" transport from "Ship of Tears" is a strange design. Does not really immediately suggest human origin, does not look Shadow either if anything almost Vorlon from the front or maybe Drakh. The rear view shows engines which is a clear indicator of non first one origin.

The ship is alaso clearly shown against a Whitestar and loks to be half the ISA ships length.

Suppose could be a modified Human transport.

Have screen grabbed images of both, transport 2 good views, and a silloutette and front view of the Anna's shuttle. Shuttle detail from the canon foorage is poor.

Guessing not allowed to show on Forum, PM me.

The alien they pulled off had Drahk features and I personally think it was a Drahk ship (or perhaps Stribe).

The yellowish shuttle which takes Anna to B5 also looks like it could be Drakh - it certainly doesn't look Shadowy, which is just as well as it wouldn't have been allowed anywhere near B5 if it did!

The teep transport does look sort of alien until you remember that the Psi Corps mothership is also effectively a sphere with a lot of spikes sticking out of the front. Graft a few such modules onto the central hull of a Skylark class transport, then add a drive section looking a bit like Urobach's latest design.

The intention was based off of Anna's transport but isn't necessarily the exact same ship. If there was to be a miniature made, it may or may not have been this, the teep transport or something else entirely.

There were some civilian ships for individual races planned for P&P.

Here is one:

Abbai Shyairel-class Outpost Lander 3 CFP
The best supply ship the Abbai have ever designed, the Shyairel – meaning ‘armoured saviour’– is a well-armed and armoured landing craft. Made to land on solid ground or under water whenever necessary, the Shyairel carries huge amounts of cargo to wherever it is needed. Being a sizeable ship capable of making planetside landings, it often must choose a landing point miles outside of a colony or outpost, relying on its hovercraft cargo vehicles and personnel shuttles to interact with the intended rendezvous.

Thanks Greg. I don't think they'll all be able to cope with how many goodies we have left! (We still have some orbital defence platforms amongst other things...)

Actually there isn't [much] on Orbital Defences - it's just a chapter heading on the one version I'm looking at. There may be some stuff in older versions of the P&P playtest pack...

thanks Gregg, (& Matt) , transports for other races is a low priority modelling project I have been working on for some time.

have not made many yet, although I have been using some of my old "Space Fleet" minis as a stop gap. More stats will be very useful.

Triggy - anything on Oribtal Platforms / Defenses would be awsome.

Centauri Lias-class Supply Ship 1 CFP
The primary re-supply and rearming vessel in the Centauri Republic navy, the Lias is often found in great numbers anywhere there is a colony, base, way-station or fleet in waiting. It is large and hard to manoeuvre, being ‘granted’ to captains and crewmen who have somehow ‘earned’ such an assignment – often due to some social faux pas or similar incident at a House Kodiro or Callo gala event.
