So, since Mongoose was at the conference call (big surprise there
) have you guys made a decision yet? basically the real benefit of shelling out the dough (which is not that much money, especially for an oufit like mongoose) is that you can have your producst hit the street by Oct 2008.
The only real competetion 4E wise at that time will be FRcS 4e (forgotten realms campaign setting) .
And plus, you will get an early peek at the rules, and maybe gauge how successful 4E will be.
I personally think that while Mongoose is moving away from D20, 4E is too huge to ignore. I think Mongoose will shell the money and get started working on a release for 4e near the nd of this year. (maybe adventures, or their Slayers Guide series, etc).
Interesting to note that this time the OGL requires the use of the PHB; so you cannot publish a 'complete' game like conan or Iron Heroes. The PHB will be required to play.
