So, in Conan, what are you?

I still have to say, I tend to lean towards single class. Still like my Gunderman Soldier. Have Pike will travel.

I've played a rather large quantity of different pen-and-paper RPGs. A lot of them were level-based.

The fun with the Conan multiclassing system is that there's no real drawback to multiclassing. And since I don't play with prestige classes, there's no reason to multiclass just for the goal of having that specific prestige class.

Single-class characters are, logically more effective in the class they are in. However, a lot of the characters I've seen in Conan (whether movies, books, comic books, RPGs and spinoffs) are journeymen. Wanderers that pick up a bit of everything. I like that some of my players are multi-classes, and I like that one of them is single-classed. It shows the variety and flexibility of the game.

Usually people multi-class for munchkinism. My players multi-class 'cause it's logical. THAT, in itself, is awesome.

And... Though I am a true fan of the pike-and-shield combat idea, it helps to have backup just in case. :)

LOL, in Conan, one Multiclasses for the Sneak Attack. :D (joke....actually I agree, multiclassing in Conan, is far more logical).....

Personally I love my Ghantan Nomad. A real bad ass with a scimitar and ghantan knife. But my Aquilonian Borderer has been fun especially since we are about to get into Beyond the Black River.

But I did have fun with a Zamoran Scholar (with the Spawn of Dagoth Hill feat). :)

So far my best character was a Vanir Barbarian/Thief/Soldier/Pirate/Nomad. I rolled ridiculously high stats so I roll played him as arrogant in the extreme. An 18 str, 16 dex, 19 con, and 16 charisma (starting stats) can lead to that. I played him as if his charisma would be 18 based on looks alone, but he's just so frustratingly arrogant it drives it down 2 points. That and he had a fate point in his pants (long story).
