Smoke covers Center point of model

Ok, here is another smoke question.

Here is the situation: A ship ends its movement with its center point inside a smoke template laid by another ship. The ship is perpendicular to the template so that the entire front and back are sticking out of the other sides (think a cross with smoke going one way and the ship the other). Now All range and LOS are measured from the center point to center point of models. Is this ship now out of LOS of other ships?

The rules imply yes, but it just looked a little silly on the table last night. I of all people understand the need to abstract certain mechanics to keep this simple but I wanted to check on this one just to make sure.

Thanks!

I know it might look a tad obscure but if the ship were in scale to the arbitary ground scale then the ship would not be much more than a dot in the centre of the base, and the smoke would not be a nicely shaped marker every time.

So Yes if the centre point of a ship is in the smoke the line of sight passes through the smoke and thus the ship can not be targetted without radar.

But NOTE: this also applies to the ship in the smoke, It can not shoot out of the smoke unless it has radar as the centre to centre line passes through the smoke
