Slow board? Why?

Skipper

Mongoose
This board seems to be crawling compared to the old B5 one. Without LBH and a few others, it would just about be dead. Hopefully this doesn't reflect interest in the game.

We are just starting a 5 player campaign here and everyone seems to like the changes. What is everyone elses opinion?

Honest opinion is, the rules are good but not a huge leap from B5 ACTA but that the fleet lists just don't feel quite right to me, but then the B5 ones went through a lot of changes too.

In truth, I've put my fleets to one side for the time being in the hope that some tweaks are made.

Myself, I've abandoned the ACTA rules and moved on to Firestorm Armada. Putting together a Terran Fleet, and may work up to running a tournament at next year's Kublacon in San Francisco.

Honestly my interest in the game is still quite strong, but right now there are only 5 fleets, all of which are very similar except in the arrangement of there maneuverability and there firepower. The rules are very solid and playable. however "at the moment" the game has a very vanilla feel over all. I think its due to a limited range of models, and total absence of specialty ships. Also I haven't had much time for games lately, and my fleet painting has gone slower than I would have liked. Mongoose has been a little slower in getting things released than originally planned though I think they are up to a decent speed currently.

P.s. We still need to do something about EMP guns, there just under-strength medium blasters at the moment...

because i would say the ships are a little plain, and a lot of people don't like the bqckground. Also i would say Spartan took quite a chunk of the market whilst ACTA was floating around with people wondering what was gonna happen. none of my locals are interested in playing, and I haven't yet seen a local store even selling it.

Of course its lucky number seven I'm really excited about. The Vuldrok look very interesting and I do like my slug guns!

If you remember way back when the ACTA B5 1st edition was released, there was a little bit of interest with the roleplayers, but a lot of comments asking why they should change from fleet action or B5Wars in a lot of the wargamers, as well as numerous criticisms of the ship designs and fleet mixes. What I would say is that ACTA NA is going to go through the same period of lengthy shakedown and modification until a lot of the little bugs are worked out - It's a good game at the moment, and once it reaches it's finished state, it should be a great game! :D

Just my 2p worth.

Just one month to wait! The Vuldrok Explorer is already complete, and Sand is working on the first of their Frigates in the office right now!

It's my dearest hope that the Dreadnought is designed after the art sketch wallpaper found on the redbrick web site.
