Slaine preview- THANKS!!!!

The preview is up! Thanks! It looks good. Especially the art, but we knew that would. The only disappointment is it looks like, judging from the preview, that the book will be black and white. Oh, well I can live with that. Now just can't wait for the book to go on sale. At least 209 pages this is the biggest RQ book yet. It looks like each tribe might get their own chapter.

Interesting.....

Even though looks like more of the same as the D20 Slaine book, I like way Clint lanely's artwork has been used to compliment the subject matter right next to it. E.G. Salmon leaping with a picture of Slaine doing his famous leap.

Some stuff on the El-worlds and Cythraul as well.

The Nucklevee, interesting as well.

I shall be looking forward to reading that entirely.

unfortunately, it seems there aren't much any other products in the line.

I am working on a personal (ie: a Flaming Cobra/Mongoose tie-in) project with a writer that will be available in the not too distant future (hopefully). This will be a tribal based campaign (ie: the party are all members of the same village/clan) with plenty of good Slaine-Celtic adventures.

I will be using more Clint Langley art for this book as well.

However it is still in its relatively early stages and I have only part of it so far written up and partially edited - this is all being done in my own time. It will also need playtesting before I get it finished, so we are talking quite a few months, but I am determined that it will come out.

There may be scope for me to produce some more supplements depending how things go with the campaign. I am looking at producing an in depth religions (cults) book and also something for Midgard. If the campaigns book sells enough I may be looking at getting some original artwork from Clint as well as pics from the comic series.

Of course if Slaine sells like hot cakes there is always the possibility of even more stuff from Mongoose which would get preference to my work.

Most of the book is the older D20 material collated and then redone for RuneQuest. There are new bits scattered here and there (Nucklevee being one), with some new critters, skills, legendary abilities, and some fairly subtle changes. There is also a small (and new) adventure at the back as an introductory piece to get the ball rolling.

Glad you like the way the art is done, this is a very deliberate and time consuming process. I went through the vast majority of Clint's work in order to get the right pics, safe to say it is difficult to get this done without Slaine appearing on every single page (I know the game is named after him but for the sake of variety...).

Anyway, back to the business of making books...

This sounds very good. 8)
Though this is curious because usually there are usually some other books released shortly after the rules.

I thought it was interesting to know that there is diffferent looking Nucklevee featureed in 'Invunerable King' Module for the D20 version. ( Page thirty Seven.)

A more equestrian variaty with humonoid figure grafted onto it's back. Both covered int he same fishy hide.

I was wondering if this is still the same monster found in the preview of Runequest Game. I guess it's sillly to ask really. You know, out with the old, in with the new.

Perhaps, the more serpentine looking creaure with the small child on it's back is in a earlier stage of it's life cycle or is different breed of the same genus.

or call the horse creature something else 8) another way will be differant tribes call differant things the same ie that not what we call a goblin :D
