Slaine Horned God campaign for MRQ

Hi,

I have only just got in to Runequest after years of D20 and love the system, I would like to run the Horned God camp but can anybody tell me how to convert levels of NPC'S. My idea is that starting PC's are in d20 1-4, seasoned 5-8, vets 9-12, Master 13-16, Hero 17-20. I know this is pretty arbitary as RQ has no levels, I just need a gauge to work with.

Anybody got any other ideas??

You could do that if you want but I find that an easier method for conversion is to simply apply the rule of +1 = 5%.
Character Attribute statistics move straight across with Wis=Pow and only Siz needing to be rolled. For NPC's I would just use the average size of 13 unless the characters description suggests they are bigger.

Att- Spear +4 melee/ Javelin +1 ranged.

Saves-Fortitude +3,Reflex 0, Willpower 0
AC15 (Helmet and Large Shield, Door of Battle Feat)
Feats-Door of Battle and Weapon Focus-Spear

Finian Pirate-MRQ

Str)13 Dex)10 Con)12 Siz)13(avge) Int)9 Pow)11 Cha)8

CA-2 ,Move 4m, SR +9, Dam Modifier +D2.

Spear-43%(Str+Dex+20%(+4 X 5%)
Shield-33%(Str+Dex+10%(+2 X5% for Door of Battle)
Thrown-15%(Dex+5%(+1 X 5%)

Character has a heavy leather cap and a target shield(further -2% for cap on his combat skills).

This is a fairly basic way of doing it. You could boost individuals by adding to skills as you see fit but remember that this is the equivalent of a 1st level Tribal Warrior. Further up the levels, the characters will be correspondingly harder.

Shield skills are a bit of a problem using this method. I suggest that characters who use shields should have a Shield skill within a +5/-5% variable of their primary 1H weapon skill.
