Skinnie Armies Question

You know how in a Mobile Infantry army, say of 2000 Points its possible to field two distinct Platoons - each with its own Command Structure etc.

Can you do that with the Skinnies? Or are you stuck with one Leader even in 2000 Points.

Whereas in an Arachnid Force, this isn't a disadvantage with Skinnies it really REALLY is.

I've Fielded a Cabal Army up to 2k, and had my ass ROYALLY kicked!
 
Depends on your list and the enemies list and your ways of playing.
I don't think a Cabal Army is that bad you just need to learn how to use it.
Like you do with all other armies - trial and error.
 
The Cabal Army just doesn't cut it, it has to many restrictions compared to the benefits the Cabal actually confer.

Having played against Billys Cabal Army, in all its incarnations and won 4 times out of 4 games (and I am possibly one of the unluckiest people on gods green earth with dice) each time using a different Mobile Infantry Army I can honestly say, hand on heart I didn't even break a sweat playing him.

Playing against his Arachnids is a different kettle entirely, we're pretty much even stevens with wins/losses.
 
A suggestion i would like mongoose to take on for the next edition and mentioned army of kabal, make units of less powerful pscyhers (of plastic), and some sort of warped chaos-spawn-esque version of brutes. And flying dacon hounds, with wings.

Although I don't necessarily agree with the 'Chaos Brutes' and Flying Dacon Hounds I DO agree that the Cabal should be a Unit rather than a Command choice.

My Reasoning -

They can't take upgrades
No Heroic Traits, FFS even Unit Champions can take 25 Points worth!

Points Cost
They just aren't worth a 75 points each, in addition - to actually make them worthwhile you need a BIG unit of them - but who in gods name wants to spend 750 points on ONE Command Element!

Stats
3+ to target, 5+ basic Save, 6+ to kill for 75 points is a joke (even with their latent Psychic Abilities). They are easier to target than Skinnie Militia LMAO!

I like the models, I really do - they're lovely.

But in MHO they just aren't worth it as a Command Choice!

definitely no to the chaos brutes, this isn't 40K with the warp
 
Therea ren ot enough alien races with tentacles and are humanoid in sci fi. I hope mongoose take this on board.

But in reality, the Hominid form (two arms and two legs) is very VERY efficient and adaptable to a variety of environments.

The only exception to this are Insects/Arachnids in nature - and we already have those :)

The only problem is, the Cabal now eat into a chunk of my points for other units Lol!

there's no way I'm re-sinking money back into this when it restarts

Flames of War and other historicals (as well as the small matter of a wedding/why do women want these things to be so damn expensive!? :shock: ) got the money from the sale of my skinnies and BFEvo
