Skills, Complete list and alternate rules

Skills and Alternate Skill Rules

I have compiled as complete a list of all the skills, sub-skills and specialties that I could find. It is a large document. I hope it's ok if I share this.

This includes an alternate way to organize skills, skill clusters, and a few alternate skills from the GM who sent me the skills cluster list. I have integrated it throughout the skills descriptions but I tried to label it clearly when it was an alternate or an addition.

One thing became obvious when I was looking through the various books with careers and racial skills, There are alot of profession, 17, and science,6, skills added in various tables. There isn't alot of other skills added but at least 4 races get some new skills, with the Droyne getting the most skills and the Aslan getting the most additional descriptions for existing skills.

I welcome additions to this, official or not. If there is an official one I've missed, please point me to where to find it.

The Specialities on Page 29 appear to be missing a header, like you did with the other skill clusters. Presumably the header should be Science (social)? But there is also Social Science [Skill Cluster] on Page 28 - so maybe I am reading it wrong.

Anyways, I like the introduction of Skills 'Cluster' and 'Cascade' into the rules vocabulary. To me, that is better than saying "specialities" to mean two different things, as per the Companion.

The Specialties section on page 29 is straight from the CRB. Not sure how to differentiate that it is different than the previous specialties list.
 
You've missed out Animals (veterinary), ah I see it is not in the top list but is described further down. My apologies.
 
Have a look in Central Supply Catalogue, it has the skills Monofilament Bolas and Monofilament Net. You need these if you're using these weapons to avoid killing yourself.
Those use the Athletics skill, presumably DEX. I am using the 2023 update so it may have changed from earlier editions.
 
Read the top of page 155, you have to take two different skills to use them safely.
Hmm, Interesting. So each Monofilament weapons requires its own skill. I didn't understand that on my initial read through, I thought you just needed a skill of 1 in the Melee (Specialization) or Athletics (DEX) skill to use it.
