I've got a random widget in play from these guys (in fact, one of my PCs installed it into herself almost right away). I have some initial effects from said widget, but I want to set up some long-term things down the road and I'm not sure what info is out there for this. (I wasn't expecting a PC to willingly keep the widget installed after it started hurting them and most particularly after it started bonding, though why I didn't expect a PC to do the unexpected I have no idea)

What do we know about them that's canon? I don't own Darkness and Light, and I don't even know if they're really in there anyway.

They don't really care for the Vorlons, they have an unusual way of accessing hyperspace (or just s flashy non-Vorlon way of doing it) and...that's about all I've got. Any help would be appreciated.

eh, I honestly don't want or need stats so much as an idea of what they're about. What's their deal? What do they want? Who are they? that sort of thing.

Basically I'm wondering if there's any info to give an indication of their thought processes, goals, desires and means they use to achieve these desires, or if I'll have to make it all up.

I'll see what I might be able to cook up for you...if I have time. I'll give you a few ideas to begin work on:

1>They are the most powerful of the First Ones, also the least in number.
2>They are true masters of inter-dimensional travel, going wherever they want whenever they want. They consider going to unknown alternate dimensions as a hobby.
3>They have, in the past, shown their power by removing an entire MOON from existence for a few days...only to replace it exactly where it was as punishment for a 'younger' race's uprising.
4>They don't just dislike the Vorlons, they are pretty much equilaterally upset at all the rest of the First Ones over the whole inter-warring thing. They dislike conflict, and are mostly happy being ignorant of the B5 universe/dimension in favour of their exploration of other ones.

Watch this space for more details. Hope this helps a litte bit, though.

Cheers,
Bry

It helps quite a bit! My players know about this forum, mind if I PM you with a question/minor brainstorm? I'd hate to put this on an open channel and have the player in question read about her upcoming surprise...

Argh I wanted to answer that, you beat me to it. :P

I remember hearing two things about the Walkers or Travellers of Sigma 957 from the Agents of Gaming line: One of which was that one ship actually manage to make a member of the Triad run for their lives. Another was that while they were away on one of their long journeys, an asteroid from Vorlon space was sent crashing into one of their library colonies and all the information was lost. They were ticked off with the Vorlons and began to make periodic returns to their domain in order to make sure everything was ok. They were somewhat envious of the Torvalus as well due to their hyper refined senses.

I'm liking these guys more and more...this is all helpful info, thanks everyone. Keep it coming, if there's more out there. (or point me at more or less canonical resources)

Hmmm well the only other thing I can remember is that they practically have no pure weapon based... well weapon. All the weapons they use are actually scientific equipment designed to gather data but are so powerful that they are capable of damaging their enemies. Their fighters are actually probes, while tings like lightning arrays and energy draining fields along with energy draining mines were also used.

I'm not sure if this information is accurate but I heard somewhere that the Walkers actually mapped out Thirdspace without drawing the wrath of the Harbingers that lie within it. Also I think I heard somewhere that they are telekinetics but not sure if thats accurate.

Oh last thing I remember is that they suffered the least from Transcending from their corporeal forms because of all the data they gathered. Most races that Transcend tend to lose a sizeable number of their population but this wasnt the case with the Walkers.

Note: Most of that is from Agent of Gaming's War of the Ancients supplement :P

Wow, I loved these walkers guys :D These sounds so cool, will look forward when LofR get released on DrivethruRPG.com

Cheers

Its a good book, quite delighted when I got it and, as I said in the Preview thread, my only complaint is that its short but again great material :D also can't wait for the Thirdspace book :)
