Forked from: “Empires of the Hyborian Age what happened to it"
Rather than further derail that thread with off-topic conversation, I thought it best to create a new thread. So picking up where Herve said"
Y’know Herve, you’re right. I should know better and for 11 pages of this thread, I remembered that in Internet forums things get lost in translation. Something that can convey humor, sarcasm, or innuendo when spoken can come across as insulting or aggressive when written and then read by another party. We’ve butted heads in the past and in almost every thread where our opinions clash, you stake a claim to the moral high ground of objectivity. So when kintire caught you in such a flagrantly un-objective statement, I laughed out loud and tweaked you a little. The “all in good fun” was meant sincerely. Clearly, you found no humor in it, so I apologize.
I’ve also come to realize why I couldn’t help myself. You’re like the tenured college professor who only engages in "debate" so long as he can control the debate and position himself for the win. Unfortunately for you, you have no “control of the classroom” in a forum. So whether it’s opinions presented as facts, one-sided “objectivity”, name calling, or just a flat out tantrum -- someone can call you on it. I realized a thread or two ago, that it wasn’t worth my time to debate with you anymore. I should have realized friendly sparring wasn’t an option, either.
So I’m done, Herve. Get as gross as you want, rant all you want, name-call away. For the first time I can remember, I’m longing for the “Ignore” feature on a forum.
(And since this is the Internet and the written word, if you imagine the above being read by William Shatner using the tone that Kirk used to Khan when he said “I’m laughing at the superior intellect”, you’re reading it as intended.)

Hervé said:Well, as always, kintire and his bootlicking pet came into the thread and we stopped talking about Conan and gaming to talk about me and start a new flamewar.
Could anybody tell them to stop before I get really gross?
