Ship Design: Guardian Class TL 11 SDB

If I used TL for the Missile Bays, I could fit more missiles or try and fit 100t bays...?

If you used TL+3 for 100 ton missile bays you could squeeze them down to 60 dtons + 1 ton of fire control.

Your armor is too high. TL 11 means no more than 11 armor factors.

Consider a fission powerplant. Double the weight, but has 1 year endurance, and no fuel requirements which might be useful for a ship used in the SDB role.

Obviously you won't need the fuel tonnage anymore. I THINK you could use the TL rules to reduce the weight by 25% since it's 3 TLs above introduction. Saves 9 tons w/o TL weight reduction, or perhaps 18.25 tons with TL reduction and elimination of fuel requirements.

Consider upping the 50-t bays to Very High yield and -10% weight for your TL upgrades. Saves 10 tons, which you can use for ammunition.

Another more radical option would be:
Convert to fission power TL11 (-25% weight)
Eliminate the fuel
Remove the 50-ton bays.
Delete the 46t ammo + armor bulkhead
Delete fuel processors

Add:
2 x 100t particle bays (TL options -10% weight, V-high yield).
This should just fit if you remove the listed systems

Designate your cargo space as spare parts to enhance endurance before having to make system breakdown rolls.

Don't forget to apply TL upgrades to the laser turrets. I like resilient and long range, personally. Or go Accurate and High Yield.

Hope some of these ideas are useful.

AH easy fix, she's TL 12 instead :)
(actually the stats are already 1 pt per 50 tons of hull for structure and hull points that is ok)

Thanks for pointing that out, thats one rule I forget so easily!

Like the other suggestions.. just trying to keep it simple. Thanks
