I've commented before on shapeways being a possible neew source of minis for acta. There are already some nice models out there, for example these:

The simple fact that you can upload any design to the site and have a printed model makes the possibilities endless.

Those are pretty cool looking ships. I kind of like the look of the belter ships. They have a nice, pre artificial gravity, look to them.
Is it only me, or does the refinery ship look a bit like what the Nostromo was towing in Alien?I couldn't be too sure, it's been a while since I've seen the film.

@ Banichi - I agree, I thought Nostromo when I first saw it. I believe the Nostromo was more blocky, but the design still seems to bring it to mind.
@ hiffano - This is true. Also, they do not allow copywritten material. It must be your own design. Personally, I'm going to try and slip some Homeworld ships under their radar. I need to find my old copy of lightwave first. I already have the models, they just need sized down. I also wanted to try and build a 'Shadowfury' fighter based on the concept art I've seen for them. I don't really care for any of the minis I've seen of the fighter (though I have to admit that whoever made the chopped shadow fighter + starfury in one model did a decent job). I've seen two different concept designs, one is like a thunderbolt that was kinda shadowized and another design that was very much an Earth/Shadow hybrid. I want to build the second one

l33tpenguin: Have you seen the ZandrisIV miniatures? There are some very nice looking Homeworld-derived ships there. I have a few, and they are top-notch.

I certainly have looked at them in the past, in fact thats where I found what I consider to be a good looking Yolu ship, their "Azrael". Only ship I ever found, so far, that looks as advanced as the Minbari, as only befits a race that have been almost 2000 years in the stars before the bonehheads.
Unfotunately only one ship so need to get out the plastic.
