Shadowsouled & Drakh

I was wondering if anyone has used the Minbari Shadowsouled in their campaigns?

I just find the concept interesting and wonder how people would work the Drakh in with them. I mean both served the same masters though it seems that events have made the Shadowsouled seek a new purpose which might not make them friendly with the Drakh.

Its in the old Minbari Federation book, basically they are a warrior clan that decided to join the Shadows cause during Valen's Shadow War. They got completely altered to become the Shadow ideal of what a Minbari should look like if they encountered the race rather then the Vorlons. Due to this, they are kind of out in deep space without a homeworld... after missing the Minbari at their lowest, they had begun to question their purpose.

So it would be an interesting development to see how they live in the Interstellar Alliance era. I mean they have kind of decided to make their own destiny without Shadow involvement but they might still hate their parent race so they would be at odds with both the Drakh and the IA.

Sounds to me like they might have a few agents in the Wind Swords ... introducing the Drakh to the Minbari, allowing the Shadows to get close. This could be what Delenn finds out during the civil war and sets out to stop.

Well its stated in the book that they make extensive use of infiltration skills and technology allowing them to hide amongst other races easily. So such agents were very well possible.

As for the Wind Swords, there are other conspiracies and problems relating to them as well. If you don't have the book and are interested in the Minbari; I would suggest getting the book. Its very nice.

Just an idea, given the discussion of what Drakh actually are, the 3 or 4 versions of them we actually see in the show etc there was the possibility that the Drakh were a collective of Shadow servants than a specific race. I could see the Minbari Shaowsould being one of the Drakh and leads to the notion that perhaps the rest of the Drakh species were also modfied variations of what races would look like according to Shadow ideals. I this sense I could see some very interesting story ideas for a game with a kind of "Dark other" feel as characters encounter races that have the traits of Minbari, Human, Centauri, Narn etc but have been twisted to suit the Shadow cause and ideals. It could also enrich the Drakh with divisions and rivalries that could make them more complex a race to deal with, espeially since all would be coming to terms with the loss of Shadows differently ranging from revenge, following in their parents footsteps, indulgence and despair even redemption possibly.

Actually rather Lord of the Rings with the Orks and Elves now I think about it

The Drakh factbook provides quite a bit of detail on the Drakh which essentially states that the two different forms of Drakh are really the same race just different castes. The Darkness and Light book mentions the Zener and Shoggren also though there is also mention of the Wurt who I don't think have been mentioned in detail in the RPG line so far.

Mind you, that is somewhat of an interesting idea you bring cthol24601.

Well actually having the Drakh allied with (or holding in subservience) other shadow touched races isn't inompatible. The Shadows have many servants of different kinds fulfilling different functions etc. We only see the tip of the iceberg in the show.
Lots of interesting potential there for game ideas I think.
