Shadow Tech Vs Vorlong Tech

To be fair, its how mongoose made the ship. I think the hunter should should be SM with shields. In the show it doesnt even have engines, so it must move around the same way shadow ships do. And what are all the spines for if not for shields. The only good thing on it is the F arc slicer beam.

In terms of the two races and their ships, specifically, I'd still have to stand by the Shadows. Their superior maneuverability outmatches Vorlon survivability. Though, in terms of "coolness," while they are both very closely matched, I must side with the Vorlon. Standing there and being cryptic is just cool.

I can agree with your point. But they don't manage to intigrate the maneuverability into "copy cat ships" like the shadow hunter/Shadow Omega/Nemisis.

Precisely.

The Shadow Hunter was a Psi Corps copy of real Shadow ships, rather than an actual Shadow ship grown by the Shadows themselves, and as such it won't have all the technology or abilities of an actual Shadow ship, largely because replicating them with human knowledge was, in the context of Babylon 5, highly difficult, if not impossible.

In game mechanics terms, I find that the Shadow's shields are a huge advantage over adaptive armor. AA is nice, but you still take a minimum of one damage point and critical hits can still affect the ship.

Both Shadows and Vorlons only have one fire arc, and typically only one weapon in that arc, but Vorlons have much more exposure to devastating weapon system or engine crits that can shut them down for at least one turn.

Vorlon tech gives better benefits to the younger races because they actually helped backward engineer their tech into the White Stars alongside the Minbari.
Then, the Minbari had a fleet of White Stars to backwards engineer from themselves, though they still can't get it fully working right.

Drakh didn't get access to proper Shadow Tech, but were helped out with highly advanced living technology, which while good, isn't on par with the actual Shadow ships.

EA totally ripped off the Shadows and didn't get help integrating the tech into their own ships, which is why they didn't get the full benefits from it.

That's why Vorlon tech gives better benefits to the younger races who integrate it.
