SFOS question

Tankdriver

Banded Mongoose
Though my playing group does not have enough time to play an a campaign, in order to save toner and paper, I had the idea of having everyone select 10 battle points worth of ships and then printing out those ships, laminating the forms and using the ships to play normal scenarios. The players would simply choose from their ships and fight each scenario with what they have. No experience, but then again, no permanent loses either.

The question is, since we will be sticking to the rules in SFOS, since we do not have ARM, should the EA use the broken Sag in SFOS or the repaired S&P one? I would think the S&P one would be better.

Also, would 10 battle be enough? Perhaps 10 war?

In S&P38W, Matthew Sprange said about the Saggittarius new profile : "So, without further ado, we present the Sagittarius – you should consider this entry an official change to A Call to Arms."

So the profile to use is the one in S&P38W.

10 Battle should be more than enough to cover most games. If the game is more then 5 War, just count it as 5 War and field the whole fleet.

Depending on how you choose it, 10 Battle might not even be 5 War, and the War point values of different 10 Battle fleets may not even be the same.

They are !

Just have a look before the scenarii ;-)

Edit : unless you've got a somehow misprinted edition ... everything is possible
Don't miss it because if I remember correctly everything is on one or two pages no more.

Sorry I'm at work, book is home.

But this page explains how difficult it is to fight in hyper space
(beacon lock, stealth, XP gained)
Look carefully at the beggining of each section in SFOS and you should find it.
