I thought it would be helpful to record where all of the official Conan Adventures are set. When multiple locations are used, the adventure is listed where it starts. To be complete, I also listed detailed adventure outlines and fleshed out adventure locations (since these can easily be turned into full-fledged adventures).

Going back through and adding that info is akin to writing it all again, and it took me some time. But, I'll tell you where any specific adventure came from, if asked. All of them come from either S&P or the official Mongoose books. I didn't add any from non-official sources like the forum.

Many in the Khitai list are detailed adventure seeds described in the Khitai sourcebook. I also listed the detailed caverns from the Catacombs book and the detailed areas from the Ruins book because both of those provide, pretty much, an adventure location stocked with baddies to fight.

Some of the other adventures you may not recognize come from the Adventures in Hyboria book, or from one of the boxed sets.

What is the source for the Dagoth Hill scenario in the game? It comes from a Conan short-story? A pastiche?

I notice that the scenario places Dagoth Hill in either Zamora or Koth, and that makes me think that there is more than one story that deals with the place.

I've found one source: the story "The Last Ballad of Laza-Lanti" contained in The Chronicles of Conan, Volume 7 (Marvel reprints).

I just finished reading it. WHAT A FANTASTIC TALE!

For me, it was akin to watching one of the good, old, Rod Serling Twilight Zone episodes--or maybe Alfred Hitchcock or The Outer Limits. Great, haunting, tale. Loved it.

Does anyone know of the Zamora source?






EDIT AND UPDATE!

It didn't take me long to google Dagoth Hill and find an answer. It's from Howard's story, The Scarlet Citadel (a tale I haven't read yet). Interesting the plot--and the connection to the comic book story I cite above. They're sister stories.

Still...where does the Zamorian connection come in? Scarlet Citadel takes place in Koth, right? Just like the comic tale.
