there will be a chance meeting of players for the 1st round which will be attributed to certain sectors then we'll match up players for the 2nd and third rounds based upon results
or if a tie then by map placement but thats for my enjoyment

I expect some points will be raised about ballance within the LONAW fleets
I'll duely take note and thank you for the comments

I've always thought the Dilgar were quite ballanced but i'm still working through the AOG campaign book to get a flavour of what the races had and comparing that to available ships for all sides

remember no one race is forced to stand on its own as we're hitting the time line from when the EA entered the war and grabbed all the races together into a liberating force...unfortunately I think we'll be hard pressed to ballance out all of the involved races such as the Ballosians
Markab and Hyach so I think I will concentrate on play testing the Markab
and hopefully do a better jon than MGP did with teh Gaim!!!

This would 'overcome' the assumed Dilgar advantage! :roll:

ok look at it this way, you do choose to play Abbai or Brakiri, 2 of the bigger players in the league. Your opponent, a Dilgar can choose every single ship from his fleet roster. you as brakiri can choose A warship, or some skirmish ship. Or as abbai, I believe patrol or Skirmish, thats your lot. it IS an advantage to the Dilgar player. even thought you seem not to think so
Now then, in a full campaign event, that is very cool and to the point, in a tourney however, you may as well not turn up. and if you want to play Pak, I think you get one ship only quite boring for the pak player.
As to narn and Centauri, the narn pretty much kept out of it, and the centauri were having a bit of political strife with emperor sucession.

Anyway, who says you just have to play Brakiri - My understanding of the tourney is you can bring a mixture of the races, not just one!

Why not a mixture of EA and LONAW in a single 1 point Armageddon Fleet? Where does it say you can't? :shock:

thats vaid but please see my later post about combined fleets from all LONAW and early EA
From AOG's source book we'll try to get some more ships for the LONAW but all LONAW worlds have at least 4 ships each
I've just gone thru the excl and its long for the Brakiri and Drazi but does leave some quite nice stuff
The problem may come when i look thru the dilgar
with wind blowing past gritted teeth whilst i make a comparison!
from AOG the only race that stood against the Dilgar was the Drazi
the Centauri have no place in this and the Narn well I'm dubious
the vree are very tasty pre 2232!
remember its 5pt raid so the dilgar don't have their big beaties really and the main ships will be tikrits tagraths and omelo's none of which can't be beaten
also from saturday some players positively enjoy playing with fleets they enjoy so i'm really looking forward to people turning up with a mirriad of races hobbled together!!

I reckon, personally that MGP has half the ISDs flat-out wrong. Witness the cock-up with the Avenger. I see the ISDs as pretty much unreliable, so they can be largely ignored where they conflict with the fluff text.

Same here Hiff - Only have Narn, Centauri and Dilgar fleets.

As for Drakh - Well they could have been used by the Shadows, to lay blame on the Vorlons, who make it look like it was the Shadows all along. . . I think :x

it's a shame to compltely exclude the Gaim, their ships are beautiful, but in terms of balance, good call!
what about allowing them but limiting them to 2 FAP's as an ally for other league fleets? or even one FAP?

nope NO GAIM by the fluff they're all under ground as the Dilgar use their planet as target practice for asteroids!
