Sell me on Judge Dredd

For someone who likes post appoc settings, has no knowledge of the progs and has no interest in Traveller or the lifepath system. What's in the book that would interest me?
How about Democracy Falls?

Simple answer: Because JD is a cool setting ;)

A bit more detailed answer: The setting has a sort of post apoc feeling to with radiation and mutants. Most of the normal humans are pretty tightly packed to huge cities like MC-1. Although the default setting is urban policing of the streets of MC-1 you could pretty easily set your campaign to Cursed Earth (where anything weird can happen).

I think there was a short series called "Cursed Earth Coburn" where a small team of judges were posted to a remote station in the Cursed Earth. It had a sort of Mad Max (the first movie) and Western feeling to it. You could do something like that, too.

Personally, Traveller system seems a tad too light for me, too but I am not sure because I have not yet run anything with it. Yes, you are not interested in the career system but in this case it really gives life to your judge (I have created one character just to test the system).

If you are only after the fluff I am not sure if I am the best person to answer you. Maybe those Archive books are then better suited to your need.

It would help a bit if you told us what you are after. Are you looking for a new game or some ideas that you could use in your own game or something else?

If you want to get a general feel of what JDRPG is all about before investing in the game why not visit the PLAY DREDD website and online game forum which can be found through the link below.

I'm Mainly interested in wether or not I'd like the setting info. I want to know what mega city 1 and the cursed earth is like. If it sounds like something I'd like then I would be looking at getting resources (game books, archives or other source books) that would let me run the setting. I would be using HQ2.So no need for stats, just descriptions and like I said I have NO interest in the lifepath system.
