Self-Repairing....

Allow me to start by saying that I picked up the Earth Alliance - The Crusade Era a few months back without getting the Armageddon sourcebook. My friend picked up Minbari and we finally had a game yesterday, now I figured out what my ships could do.

As we were playing and my Nemesis took some damage, I saw the Self-Repairing 1d6 special ability, but nothing in the Armageddon book, Book 1 Revised, or Book 2 Revised told what it did. I can see the Shadows always had it, but nothing explains how exactly it works.

Can someone point me in the right direction? I would like the full use out of my Nemesis, especially with I get all three of his Sharlins unloading on one ship.

The explanation seems simple enough: At the end of every round, you repair x number of ship damage points. You get +1 on damage checks. Remember that self-repair does not restore crew.

I didn't realise that, mind you we tend not to play crusdare era earth, or ISA so the only times we have come across it is with the Ancients who don't use it anyway......

Yeah, we didn't realize that for ages either.
A White Star with Sheridan on board repairs crits on a 2+!

Whitestars can be a suprisingly hardy little ship. But it makes me laugh when their crew gets killed, and the ship proceeds to heal itself back to full hull. I think the ISA needs a towtruck class whitestar.

Last campaign I played in - killed 6 white stars and the Carrier - cool battle - stupid Victory Class Destroyers!. Greg just recrewed all six white stars.................as he had won! :(

Why do you think the Rangers have such an active recruitment and training organisation?

They have to keep 3 full crews on standby for each WS.

I always thought it was odd that the Vorlons and Shadows had to pay double for their ships in campaign due to self repair but the younger races didn't because they had to pay for crew. Seems to me Whitestars and the like should have to pay 50% more for balance as they only pay for 50% of the damage they take.

Nothing else would give a reason the ISA might take a main warship from one of their allies... Whitestars being actually a rare and expensive build after the start of the game.

Not trying to screw the ISA players (and occasional shadow omega player) but the balance seems a bit weird.
