SAS support squads and Armoured companies.

In the rules for armoured companies it says that any size 1 models must be in a transport, does this include SAS that are using the Ambush special rule? If so does their transport also gain this advantage?

EH?!???!???! :? :? :?

Come on man do you really think that the APC should get the same advantages as the SAS squad without paying a cost in points.

Nope, the question is more about do the SAS need to take a warrior.

If SAS have to take a transport, do they have to be deployed in it? and if they don't have to be deployed in it, then why should they have to take a transport?

I would say this is a different arguement to the infantry, they would actually be part of the armoured company, but surely the SAS would just be an attachement at best, or have gone forward to scout out a target for attack....

a warrior all on its own isn't going to look suspcious is it?! If your just taking SAS they should be allowed to go on their own if you want them to, a Warrior might stand out a bit otherwise :)

well you take say 2 half squads

thats only 8 men and 2 warriors.

or you could go the other way

take 2 full teams and and 2 sas squads, thats 4 warriors in theory.

then deploy your sas as normal and then divide your squads into 4 mn teams into your warriors.

basicly have a play around.

the warrior wont gain the SAS upgrades, by the way.

you get a transport for a unit doesnt mean you have to transport unit within transport.

i have to say the warrior and shadow and FAV are my fave units in the game.

No, it says:

Transport: Must take as many units as necessary to carry all Size 1 models.

You have to buy them for the platoon, nothing says they have to be deployed in the transports.

Nope, still only 1 warrior for 8 guys no matter how many squads there in.

well thats silly lbh if you think about it.

idea is to allow you to feild your army totaly mobalised so yes in theory you can have 2 warriors for 2 units of 4 men, its part of the premuim cost of the first 4 guys.

this of course is from a wargamer pointof view

Yeah, but int he rules it says enough transports to carry all Size 1 models, so 2 4 man squads only get 1 warrior, same as 1 8 man squad.

I don't write the rules, I just lawyer them

But in reality those 2 squads would ride in same warrior and not artificially bring second just for the one fireteam

The quote you sited, LBH, says "as many as necessary" not "only as many as necessary". Implying you can take one for each fire team.

yup cuz in real worl you may wish to use a warrior to send a squad up each flank no mater if its a 4 man or 8 man. in a real armourd division their is often far more warriors than infantry units present any way.

Yup you may want to do that, you might also want to mount a 120mm gun on your warrior, it doesn't mean you can. Unless you have a "spare warrior".... say you take 1 unit of infantry and a command squad as well as your 2 challies, I see no reason why you couldn't deploy your comand squad on the table and then split the infantry into its fire teams and put a fire team in each warrior, after all any infantry can use any friendly transport.

Which happen to be very expensive...And it would be very illogical to develop APC which can hold X trooppers and then not use that capacity...

Warrior per fireteam is just gamey min-maxing wish.
