Starship Troopers Evolution - you probably thought we’d forgotten it, but here’s the latest information on what promises to be the game that triggers the prepainted miniatures revolution.

I just read the BF:Evo and SST:Evo article in S&P 47 (downloadable thru yahoo.uk as of 19:30 CDT )

It's a lot like listening to a Vorlon or somebody who trying to be mysteriously erudite.

Oddly enough I feel a little better.

MSprange I am not disrespecting you but GD! you know what you are talking about I don't....I can't read your mind either. :(

If I get your drift You're straightening out some issues and you're not sure how long it'll take so please bear with us. Is that about right?

Now remember I read 'Merrican fine English? Not so much....

:P

It is good to see articles on the people behind the company, like the new mail order dude. I'd like to know more about the staff.

yay CTA battle report between the unknowledgable and the barely knowledgable :D

Oy!

lol well you did get the primuses back to front. and unless russel has been practising his only game previously was one versus me :D

well at least with the fleet box sets its made choosing a fleet even easier for you, instead of one page fleets its one box fleets :D

I'd rather they concentrate on getting Order of Battle out the door than worry about S&P articles for VAS.

I've said it before, and then someone lifted it for their sig:

Cannot be running out of bandwidth, bandwidth is infinite! You are finite, Zathras is finite....this....this is wrong tool!

My thoughts on S&P47 Wargamer:

Nothing for VaS *shrugs* There's so much stuff out now in prev. editions that I'm still digesting, so not a huge disappointment.

Lots of ACTA. Should make fans of that game happy.

Evo: Well, hrm. A long way of saying there's more delays. Still, if you look closely there's lots of other bits.

  • Good: Mongoose is expanding to other factories, since their existing one simply doesn't cut it. (Sounds like they're still going to use them to some extent, however). The hope is that this will both A) improve release times and b) help alleviate some costs.

Bad: Games are on hold for a bit, including the BF:Evo Cobra I am eagerly awaiting. Still, if it means better quality in the long run, I'm fine. I still have plenty to buy as it is :)

Concern: BF:Evo was listed as a "test" game, much like Mighty Armies was a test on metal miniatures. This comparison kind of scares me.

Awesome: Upcoming S&P articles releasing new units for BF:Evo. Upcoming SST:Evo army lists for the old minis. New packaging plan to improve costs, such as including spare warriors with the Plasma Bug.

Holding my breath: "the tanker bug looks nothing like the old one." The old one is one of my favorite SST models.

Curious: The announcement of the "big company" doesn't really sound to awesome the way this was worded. It sounds like they want Mongoose to pick up another project when they're already trying to do too much. Guess we'll have to see.

BF:Evo specifically, there's not really anything except the Florida campaign. I haven't looked too closely yet, as the first one failed to grab my interest.

SST:Evo specifically, yet another Forth background article. Nothing really too exciting or revealing. I wanna see something about the new Skinnies!

Monty's Offer: Saying I'm offended is probably going too far for something meant to be a special deal, but I am dissapointed. This does nothing for us who won't be going.

Overall, I give this S&P a "meh."
