Banded Mongoose
I thought that a Hyborian Age sourcebook for RQ had been announced. I've since come across a few things that make it seem like that idea has been abandoned, but I must have missed the actual announcement.
Is this right? Can anyone point me to a relevant thread?

Thanks!

the Conan RQ project was cancelled due to many people prefering Conan stays OGL.
But I thought that MRQ was OGL as well? Does that mean some other company could do a MRQ-Conan book?

Probably - providfing they avoided using any non-open content - ie the Product Identity. In other words any other company could use the OGL to produce a version of Conan using MRQ providing they didn't mention Conan, Hyperboria, Cimmeria or any of the other reasons why one would choose to buy a Conan rulebook...

I was telling of D20 OGL for Conan. It is a special version of the D20 system which was conceived for Conan (the magic system is very different).
In fact it's OGL material in the wy you don't need the player handbook but only the Conan core book to play it.

You are right. The terms are quoted at the end of each Conan book.

Should not be all that hard to convert Conan to Runequest for anyone really interested. Main thing would be magic and magic was rare in Robert E Howards work.

The magic is pretty easy. Just use the Sorcery rules in the Companion with the rules for Black Magic in Lankhmar. The only other thing I'd consider adding are the Demon summoning rules from Elric. Possibly include that as a additional Black Magic spell.

And what do I do if I have no interest in Lankhmar, and don't intend to buy a Lankhmar book to play Conan?

Hyborian Adventures has just been added to the list of upcoming products for May. :D I'm delighted, I hope it isn't a mistake. Can anyone at Mongoose confirm this will really happen this time?
