RuneQuest Book Cover

The new rules are excellent (still making my way through) but the book cover is different from the one advertised online (in fact there are a few other differences).

Does the rulebook come with different runes on it?

Just curious.

I am not fluent on my RQ Runes, but all the pics I saw on line had a sort of Asterisk looking rune, my copy I received to day has a Rune that looks like the side view of a picnic table.

Yes mine had the Luck rune (the picnic table looking thing - check the last page for the major runes) on it too.

Did any have the Fate rune?

Or maybe this is a new wheeze - get 30 different covers (one for each rune) so that the real collector has to buy 30 different copies. I know book collectors who bought two first editions of Susanna Clarke's Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell because there were two colours (both dust jacket and boards).

This was a last minute change - someone in the office (naming no one, but she is French) said they did not really like the first rune selected. So, we had a bit of a debate, and a substitute was made!

Pah! Who's to say it isn't the rune for picnicking in your RQ world?

So we "Lucky" few have a collector's item...

I like the Luck Rune choice.....the Fate rune, cool as it might have been, would have read like this:

RunequestII*

and it would be missing the necessary citation/reference...and if it did have one:

* Fate rune

Would that be self-referential? Would fate be caught in a loop?
