Romulan Free hand

So a question that has been going round my group, are the belly birds on the Romulans molded on or are they all free hand? Or are some molded and some require free hand?

I believe that they are moulded on

They are molded/scribed into the bellies. It is apparently not very deep probably about as deep as the radial lines on the Fed ca or plate pattern on the Klingons.

Do not that the Kestrals (Klingon ships in Romulan service) do not have a belly bird etched in them.

The engraved lines are almost exactly the same depth as the Fed panel lines, but considerably thinner.

Eagle Series:
The Snipe doesn't have a belly bird inscribed.
The Battlehawk, War Eagle, King Eagle, and Condor does.

Kestrals:
No Kestrals have birds inscribed in them.

Hawks:
The SkyHawk doesn't have a bird.
The SparrowHawk, FireHawk, and Fast Hawk do have birds.
