Romulan fleet boxes

Any chance of getting a fleet box representing the Eagle series, the Kestrel series, and the Hawk series respectively?

This would allow Romulan players to concentrate on their favorite types.

Has anyone put any thought into this idea. Every race has its peculiarities and the Romulans have more than their fair share. It just seems to make sense. I am a fan of the Hawk and Eagle series. The Kestrels are less appealing because of the borrowed technology. My opinion may change depending on mechanics.

I am also a fan of the Hawks and Eagles. I plan on trading my Kestrels to my Klingon friend who is only getting the squadron box.

My only reservation is that I don't know what the points spread will be for the fleet. Giving away my kestrels may leave me with some holes in point values that could make fleet construction to a given point value a bit more challenging. Might be a moot point though as snipes will probably be quite cheap and useful for making up points shortfalls!

I think the issue may be there is a awful lot of requests for lots of varied boxes - which I can imagine being a bit of pain

There are an awful lot of requests for an Eagle box though. I know I'd get one or two in a heartbeat.

I've read that Steve Cole and Matt Sprange plan to wait 3-6 months, gauge market reaction to the minis line, then see if alternate offerings are necessary. So Eagle/Hawk series boxes may happen, but they won't happen for six months (at the earliest). In the meantime you may be stuck with swapping/selling your Kestrels to Klingons who want them.

I don't know if you could make a viable fleet out of Eagle series ships alone, they tend to be a bit small. The Vulture dreadnought is only about BCH sized in terms of points. And that's not even available yet. Hawk series fleets are definitely viable though.

This Eagle box here and this Hawk box here in the 2400 line shows that there is (or at least was) enough demand for eagles and hawks to make a separate box for both. I expect it will happen in time with the 2500 line as well.
