Xuthal! Of course! Spot on! :D And Xuchotl as well of course (even though I'm sure there are pretenders: wrath is I think a more common theme).

Kind of suggests REH DID have the deadly sins somewhere in the back of his head when he wrote these...

Having read the Stygian campaign book thoroughly I'm pretty pleased I got it. Stygia always fascinated me and yet is presented as being a mystery in the stories. I think the book was in keeping with this in restrospect. A group visiting Stygia should probably feel uncomfortable, out of place and always wondering what might happen next.

One thing I enjoyed was the way that the sensuality presented is somehow both richer and deeper than that of Shadizar but also beyond the casually lascivious. It verges on being weird actually which I like.

I also liked how the archaic war technology is given a context that makes sense--as a nation with people reputed to be among the greatest and most sinister sorcerors in the world among its very ruling classes it is like a gesture of contempt for Hyborian warfare.

the religions as well are very in depth and clearly written about.

I liked the write ups of the regional information and cities as well as local customs. It would be no difficulty to present Stygian culture.

The only dilemna left is how to actually do adventures there. However I have a few ideas roiling around...I'll post more on that later.
