Return to the Road of Kings?

With the 2nd edition coming in August I was wonder will the Return to the road of kings be worth buying. Will it have new information, or will it be for the most part a re-print of road of kings. Anyone know?

It will be worth buying, IMHO. It is not just going to be a measly little reprint - it will be full of new stuff, as well as revisionary material.

I've been away for a while.
I also noticed a mention of "Return to the RoK."
What inclusions are going to be in it? More fluff, more crunch?

Is Conan 2nd ed. going to be Runequest (as I've heard thru the Hyborian lotus-vine)? :?

Nope! There was some debate for a little while, but 2E is most definitely more akin to what you are used to, with some new changes and tweaks. I'm sure Matt will drop a preview in here eventually, but that is a choice that happens at a different pay grade. :)

Oh, I _do_ strongly hope that the basic system will remain the same, and that it will just be clarified, refined and expanded a bit. A total system change is usually the point when I lose interest in a game. Been like that with Shadowrun 3>4 and The Dark Eye 3>4.

Please, please, please include the different actions from D&D 3.5 in the second edition if it is legally possible. (I'm not familiar with the details of D20 SRD). It is so much clearer to have immediate, free, swift, standard, move and full-round actions, especially in case of combat maneuvers and spells. For example, the spell Ward by Will in the Stygia book is obviously supposed to be an immediate action.

Am I going to recognise any of this "revisionary material"?

My main concern is that from those two books, It looks like its on a trend of all the books being "revised". So my question is, will we have to purchase all new or "returning" books or will the old ones still be good to use?

Hey, Vincent
Just the man I wanted to talk too! :P Had a quick question. In AtTR, on
p.128, the feat: Wicked savagery, it says "when you drop an opponent in melee" are we talking about 0 hitpoints drop, or are we talking about them being knocked off there feet, or laying on the ground drop? Like can PC make a trip attack then wicked savagery action?

Thanks!

I guess so, but I had to ask incase someone tries to munchkin the rule...

Maddog, you should start running again... this time, a detailed history...

I would love to play Conan or Iron Heroes. The trick in convincing other people. Phil should be back soon, so I have some hope.

Yeah I was getting into that game, the XP/lvl curve was steep, but the game was great, I also liked the background actions and some subplots that were starting to take place. I thought it was great that we were actully generating money (though small) in trade, and unlike DnD, using our skills to supplment our day to day PC lives. I hope I still have my PC around somewhere, I really would like to play or use him again...
