Resin or not resin that is the question

Mongoose
Well hello all , ive been away awhile but now i am back , i must admit i was a little ticked off at absolutely nothing new SSt , however i am very glad to see at least a couple of new releases . The landing crew are very nice indeed and Skinny Arnie lookalikes the brutes.....not so sure about those .
Well Resins , if mongoose release resin models will they be as obscenely priced as another Sci-fi resin company is , for me that would effectively prohibit me getting them , i also know these things are very expensiver to produce especially the master moulds (hence the expense) and i8 believe the moulds only last for so long .
I read M.Spranges the state of M.G.P's miniatures with great interest and it answered a lot of questions for me .
Hopefully we shall see some more new releases soon , to keep alive mini's have to be released more regularly or players are going to get bored very quickly , look at G.W theres a new release nearly every month
not always spectacular but a release all the same .
The quality issue , i must admit i havre had my share of 'bad' batches
The roughnecks pack -arms and bits missing -TWICE
Arachnid spiders -legs missing
Heroes of the federation-absolutely awful mouldings .
Tonight i open a skinnie Beast rider and theres a arm missing
M.G.P although your customer service is second to none and the very best i have experienced , you really have to sort out quality issues.
Now that i am back i shall continue to support you again , I really hope you guys in mongoose towers continue to support the players and collectors , otherwise great games and a great company will roll over and die . We need good , fun companies that produce great games and mini's.

No worries about resins: we have already had this discussion a while ago.

Any product released by Mongoose will be top drawer, and that includes resin kits and figures.

If there are problems, we will know about them long before release...which means that you will probably never even get a whiff of the situation.

If any issues arise, I am sure that Matt will put my arse on a plane immediately...and then I will bring thunder, lightning, and a whole lot of whip-a$$ to resolve the issue.

Regards.

Paying a little higher price for super-detailed 'centerpiece' models like brain bugs is OK...except for the fact that I recently finished my metal brain bug

A clear resin abdomen for a plasma bug abdomen or a tanker's head antennae would be sweet for lighting :)

The Brain is only resin because:

a) it is too big for metal
AND
b) will be sold in to less quantities to justify a plastic mold.

So basically it's a thing of practicability and price and a very special case in the SST range.

whast? the plasmas going to be resin?

I thought they're doing the brain in resin because of the quantity thingy and stuff and keep the plasma in plastic cause it would be wayyyyy to heavy as a resin model...

I think Mr. Sprange said they were looking at the options for the Plasma Bug. So it's too early to panic or rejoice.

Yes, exactly right.

He also said to me "you are going to love the air units" - the tease!

As long as we get them. Also, the resin plasma bug, according to him, if i remember correctly, would be a while.

I believe in reference to a resin plasma bug I think they are thinking a special edition version which is either A. transparent parts or B. Much Larger.

A larger one that could have a lamp put in was briefly talked about a loooong time ago.

I can't imagine why they would waste the current plastic kit mould, as its a great model and since theyve already made the mould for a plastic why change? The plastic material is cheaper than metal or resin, its the moulds that are pricey for em.

So I bet we keep the current plasma for rank and file, but that some day you see even bigger plasmas in resin.

Waah, cool down, I meant the BRAIN of course, NOT the Plasma.

The new Plasma is stated to be plastic and that's good.
