Yeah, you noticed? :lol: Actually it's two ships :wink: , as the Prince of Wales is bringing up the rear. It's a very emotional perspective, for when I studied it, it very quickly came to me that the position of the ships and angle of the guns signified the moments before the Hood's demise. You can see a salvo splash from the Bismarck just behind the Hood. It appears as though Hood has just finished her run towards the Bismarck to lower the range, and is beginning her turn to port in order to unmask her rear 15" guns to be able to bear in a full broadside salvo. As such, the artist did a wonderful bit of research on the ships as well as the timeline in order to come up with the perspective shown. I don't know if he named the artwork as some authors do, but I'd call it "The Last Shining Moment of a Gallant Ship." I really was struck by the image. Besides, this does indeed now give me an appropriate Avatar, to be sure. I'm a proud Avatar user, heh. Bring on VaS !
