Reign of Discordia

Emperor Mongoose
Just bought some MG books, one of them is Reign Of Discordia - currently going for £5 from MG's Out of Print sale.

Physically it is similar to MgT's core rule book so will take a hammering.

Inside seems to pass muster. It even includes an initial sample adventure.

One thing I did notice was that there isn't a hex-based map for this setting. That's unfortunate. However, the inside front cover does have a very picturesque map, with a scale of 1 inch being 40 light years.

Yeah, I have had this on PDF since the Haiti fund drive at Drivethru, but I haven't really looked at it yet, but I certainly need to.

Thanks IanBruntlett for pointing this out. It is £8.50 with delivery for UK/USA/Canada.

I to have the pdf - there is I think plenty to mine in there.

I think the idea was that they gave you a map of the entire setting with some of the major worlds presented. You can then create a Subsector map with all the detail you want within that setting.

It is like showing you a map of Charted Space and leaving the subsector maps up to you.

Hopefully future products will include more detail since the setting is a very nice trans-humany feel.

Anyone doing anything with this?? :?:
No I'm not, maybe in a year or two I'll skim it for a few ideas.

There is an older thread where people were doing quite a bit of complaining about it. My one observation was how I met the author at a convention here in Spokane WA and he was laughing it up bragging about it was easy money... for a simple conversion (I think he did it for T20 first).

I too have it from the Haiti bundle but that's about all I can say personally besides I didn't care for what I did see.

Not really. It is a conversion from True 20, and has inherited the compara-
tively cinematic space opera approach from this system, which I do not li-
ke very much. Besides, the conversion has left some holes in the material,
where True 20 rules were eliminated, but no Traveller rules introduced, so
a referee still has to do some work to adapt the material to the Traveller
system. That said, if you like space opera, there are lots of material for
this kind of game, and if it fits your taste and you do not mind to have a
little extra work, you may well enjoy it.
