Reft Sector Goodness

The weather was too good to stay indoors yesterday, we went for a nice long walk instead, but, i had a chance to skim it last night, the island sub-sector intrigued me a lot! quality overall looks good.

Only one negative comment, it lacks a "Subsectors of the Reft Sector" Section, but gains a great section on powers in the Reft Sector which covers coporate interests as well... so swings and roundabouts

"Subsectors of Reft Sector" would contain a lot of 'nothing here' entries.

And since some of those that do have stuff in them are administered from elsewhere, it made sense to do a powers section rather than a subsector overview.

Sweet now its no longer on pre-order I'll see if a game store can order it for me.

Quick question for MJD, was Reft sector UWP data culled from older sources or did you get a free hand to create the worlds?

Yah, but, it would give you a sense of how it all plugged together at a glance, all it need/needs was a single sector view map with the sub-sector names on it ala'

The data was compiled from canon sources which were provided to me and used verbatim. I no longer have any interest in trying to fix dodgy UWPs and the like;not after the last time.

Reft is also my last Traveller book.

There are some Avenger books still in the pipeline that will appear after it, but Reft was the last book I sat down to write, and if fate is kind there won't be any more.

Thanks for the reply MJD.

You answered my question in which I wondered if some of the more dubious codes that the world creation system throws up had been fixed.

Its sad to see probably the best 3I writer go, hope you return to writing RPG stuff one day for different systems and settings.

He didn't say he was stopping RPG writing completely. Just Traveller.

There are various possibilities regarding other RPG endavours.

I'm not really sure if any of that will happen though.

What I do know is that I really don't want to touch Traveller any more.

I *have* in the past taken on projects I didn't want (I write for a living; catch me when work is slack and offer me money) but Traveller is at present something I actively don't want to be involved in.

So you actually have the book in your hands?? I ordered this book from Amazon in January (and book 7 and book 8) and have not seen anything about it being shipped out. No release date there either. The release date has done nothing but get pushed back farther and farther. You mean I may actually get this soon?? I would go to a game store to get one, but the nearest game store is 200 miles away and they might not have it.
