Railguns on EA ACTA models, how many each and where?

Hi all,

Yes yes, enough jokes about how I'll never need to know because I'll never build my minis, but seriously.

In terms of EA ships, how many railguns are supposed to be on each of the different types?

Any pointers on where the mounting points are would help.

Cheers

On numbers I believe the following (for the standard hulls at least)

Olympus = 2, one top of the tower and the second somewhere on the ventral hull.

Artemis = 6, four mounted in pairs top and bottom of the protrusions on the forward hull, and the other two mounted side by side behind the tower on top of the rear hull.

Warlock = 3 (or six in twin turrets), one above the nose, one on the ventral side just where the connecting bit between the engines and the main hull meets the main hull, and the third further forwards where the main hulls slopes forwards and downwards.
As circled in red here:

Don't know about the variants or the Chronos.

Hope that helps.

Had a little bit of a search through my AoG stuff (handy as the SCS have most weapon systems displayed on a one to one basis in their rough locations on the ship)

Chronos = 4, located roughly in the corners of the ship, however the model has changed shape from the original AoG design and this doesn't match the ACtA turret arc either, so my best guess would be some sort of top and bottom turret arrangement like the Olympus with the same number of guns (based on the AD).

Rail Hyperion = 5, one in the nose where the fixed twin battery is on the basic model, the other four are two forward and two aft in the heavy laser mounts on the sides of the ship (of course since no one is exactly clear on where said mounts are this less useful...)

Olympus: 5, one on the tower, 2 dorsal, 2 ventral behind the cones at the front.

Now I bought my Artemis made up, but they have 10. 2 dorsal either side of the tower, and 4 symetrically top and bottom of the front protrusions, and again 4 behind them.

Are we talking about gun turrets in general on EA ships or specifically railguns? Because the forward mounted turrets on the Olympus were the pulse/plasma cannons under AoG...

On the Artemis it looks like they sell it with just one form of turret now, the AoG model had Omega style turrets for the mid-line pairs representing the particle beams that have been co-opted into the AF trait under the present stats.

So looks like you have plenty of options to chose from...

I'm talking specifically about the number of railgun bits you're supposed to stick onto the models in aCTA, and I don't have any variant hyperions, just the original Mongoose ones.

I'm sure some models came with too many, and some with not enough, I'm pretty sure I'll have enough to go round once sort it out, which is why I'm aksing here, to give me the requisite knowledge.

The turret pieces supplied with the Artemis and Olympus are all the same - and Mongoose's old part list described them as railgun turrets.

I know they're all the same Greg, I have too many of them in their unassembled state not to know that, just trying to find out how many go where on each ship.

Well off the top of my head I have the following ships:

(Older Larger) Olympus
Tethys
Artemis
Chronos
Hyperion
Nova
Warlock
Hermes
Explorer
Oracle
Avenger
Poseidon
Omega

So those are the ones I'm most interested in, yes I know not all of them have Railguns that need fitted to the model, I just did a minor brain dump.

I dont want to know what you did to your brain, tho it may need scrubbing but a dirty mind is a terable thing to waist

Tethys (No weapons to add on)
Artemis
Chronos (No weapons to add on)
Hyperion (No weapons to add on)
Nova
Warlock
Hermes
Explorer (No weapons to add on)
Oracle
Avenger (No weapons to add on)
Poseidon
Omega (No weapons to add on)

looks EVEN more better (yes, more better) if you add a little control tower like on the sags to the top of it! Then it looks like a real carrier

Thanks for all the help so far.

To be clearer, I'm not looking for opinions on what looks better with or without, I'm looking for the 'Mongoose spec' as it were so I know what I 'should' have on each model.

Keep the info coming.
