Quick Update please?

Well I've been out of it for about a year now. I was running demos at the HMGS cons for SST. When the announcement about EVO and prepaints came out, along with our game store moving out of the area, I faded out of the game. Well, I found another store in York PA that carries SST. The owner would like a demo and I am only happy to oblige. So it looks like I'm back, but I wonder can someone let me know where we are with EVO? When is it coming out, are peope going to be switching over? I know these are loaded questions but as I've looked at some of the more recent posts I'd love to have some one give me brief commentary on where we are. Thanks in advance. ~Robert

SST Evo is delayed to unknown (appearently problems in production & design). There are some previews but as they use simplified rules they don't represent the full game.

My group won't switch as MGP said the SST rules will be the same as the BFE rules and we really don't like them - we also don't like what we have seen of SST Evo 'till now (Tanker moving blocked by LAMI, simplified terrain rules, nerfed nukes, no more tanker templates, unbalanced cover rules etc.).
So I stay with the old (and appearently most people I know will).

If they would put the unit cards up for download and sell the rulebook (presumably it's done) they might have some people jump at the 25% off miniatures deal. I'm not buying anything more though until I see the rules. Hint Hint.

SST:Evo has been delayed for an unknown period of time.

The most reliable rumors I've got:
* The rulebook will be released in November, with figures to follow in 2008. (Presumably unit cards would either be in the rulebook or available in S&P.)
* The delay is due to problems at the factory. Whether that is painting quality, packaging flexibility, or just overall cost is unclear.

Even these are, of course, still rumors: worth about as much as the paper they're printed on.

They do have some of the unit cards and the basic rules available already. There is a copy of the rules and some unit cards for the bug, skinnies and MI in the yahoo group that I moderate. Just look in the files section in the Starship Troopers Evolution folder. It is not all of the minis but it does cover a good chunk of each faction (ten cards for each).
