Quick Barrage question

Quick question:

10x triple Beam Laser turrets, what's their stat line for Barrage combat?

10 - Beam Laser - Medium - 3
or
30 - Beam Laser - Medium - 1

NOPE - editing for the second time.

It is a 30-Beam Laser-1 barrage. See table on page 51.

Although, would it matter? Ultimately you are subtracting the SINGLE weapon damage from the target's armor. So whether it is was 30-beam-1 or 10-beam-3, you are doing (armor - 1).

Then you are rolling a number of dice for the barrage equal to the damage dice, which would be 30 either way...

Um, if I'm not totally mistaken, there's a huge difference between 30 - x - x - 1 and 10 - x - x 3.

As I understand it, the first number is the number of weapons firing, and the final number is individual weapon damage.

That would mean that the 10 - 3 variant is better against armor, but easier to stop with sandcasters (fewer weapons fired).

It would also mean that a triple beam laser deals as much damage as a particle turret... Hmm...

Page 51 only tells me the damage of one beam laser, it doesn't say anything about double or triple turrets. Three str 1 guns, or one str 3?

Page 74 talk about missile bays, and counts 10 bays as 10 shots, not 10x12 shots.

A triple beam laser turret fires three 1d6 attacks, not a single 3d6 one.

There is no "triple beam" weapon, hence why it just a laser beam.

Dont pay any attention to the notation to figure out individual weapon damage, unless you're going to actually put it in there yourself. For example, Page 74 Lists a 50-ton missile bay as 10-Missile-Long-12. That does NOT mean the individual weapon damage is 12. It is as per a single missile. So it's 1 for most missiles, and 2 for nuclear missiles, etc.. (look at page 51).

Individual weapon damage is very very simple, it is pretty much 1 point per die of normal damage. Thats it. No fancy other calculation.

So for a nuclear missile barrage from a 10 x 50ton bays, you're looking at 120 missiles. 120 die barrage with individual damage being 2 points.
