Questions about Aslan character creation

Trai get lessons eight imperial years, old crew! I speak much well. Hear me many years I live on Khusai. Much very well now. There so!

Uuuuh, not mind do jump time. Learn much in jump time.

After rolling up another low soc Aslan I looked at the chart again and it seems that the average SOC (average as in the SOC you get when you roll completely average) is 3-4.

If you round up the 1d6 (average is 3.5) rolls for clan and Ancestral Deed you end up with +2 territory and another +2 from the two Past Deed rolls (Average 7 giving 1 territory each).
If one of the 1d6 rolls come up as 3 you only get 3 SOC.

That does seem awfully low.

It could represent their soc in regards to being in human space, which is what they primarily are as pc's in my experience. But yes, it does seem too low for standard, the original Solomani module had low soc as well.

Truly sociable aslan are skilled, lucky and old. It seems Social Standing and territory are both as much a reward as money and gear to a human or vargr.

Sorry for the necro, but after a few more Soc 2 chargens I find it really "funny" that the Aslan "low social standing" NPCs in the latest Drinax adventure have a higher soc than what people get on average through chargen.

Has there been any clarification or errata on the chargen for Aslans? I really wonder if it is intended that even average (no penalty) soc is so hard to get. That especially sucks for careers with soc advancement (mostly medics).

I'll have to run some more Aslan chargens on my computer to see what a good average SOC is for them.

I did that manually. When you roll average (3.5) on the first and 7 and the two following you end up with Soc 3 or 4, depending if you round up or down.
One bad 2d6 roll and you are pretty much guaranteed Soc 2

I usually roll at least 10,000 characters. Then do an average of them.

It will certainly be interesting to see the results. By math 50% should be Soc 4 or less. Maybe even more because of the Snake Eyes event on the Past Deeds table which ruins an otherwise awesome streak.
