I just got my VaS book recently, and have already lost a game because I didn't read the FAQ. (JKN Class against Fletcher).

Anyway, are the aircraft stats per plane or per flight? Because if its per plane and you figure that an average flight has 4 planes then aircraft become more dangerous. I'm not looking to start another long drawn out argument about why carriers suck, just some insight for a house rule since I'm a pilot at heart. And I love American fighters.

Per flight.

Aircraft have been toned down, but are being looked at. Currently buying swordfish gives you as many torpedoes on target than a JKN, and when you buy carriers it is usually fairly close to the points for the aircraft, with the carrier for free. While aircraft are faster, they are vulnerable to AA fire (less so the 2 damage American aircraft).

Yeah, refueling and rearming aircraft makes carriers a very desirable thing to have. Shore based aircraft get no such bonus, and it makes carriers highly valuable, as well as carrier aircraft.
