OK, I just checked the permissions on my Scouts pdf, and while you can copy text, and extract pages, you can't put comments in. Seems a bit bass-ackwards to me. :)

Can you add comments to an extracted page?
Can you insert and delete pages?
(If you see where that line of thought is heading).

Actually - not sure where you are heading... :? ...but I think it is down the wrong path ;)

If I wanted a PDF that allowed Comments to be inserted and I had a PDF that did not allow comments to be inserted, but did allow pages to be extracted. Then, perhaps, these extracted pages could be rebound into a new (identical) PDF that could have the Comment Function turned on.

Ok - now I get ya!... o

'Extracting' is generally copying piecemeal and the results are not always satisfactory with PDFs and a lot of work - sorry I misread and didn't realize you were going there - my bad read... thumbs up for a good response!

Fox-It (free PDF reader) will let one add comments to any PDF (as far as I've experienced) - though I prefer Acrobat's feature.

Sounds like Mongoose just doesn't have the comment feature allowed - not as a security concern. As long as they allow printing and even copying content - that is grand!
