question about Navy - Fighter career

so it says under fighter in the main core rulebook that this is a great option to get pilot experience but it is the most dangerous and yet, I see nothing in the career that makes it extra dangerous..

am I missing something?

Its a small ship, thus easier for the enemy to blow out of the sky as opposed to a sailor serving onboard a capital ship, which can take a lot more hits than a fighter can and survive. If the fighter gets blown up, the pilot usually dies!
 
The survival rolls are often the indicator of how dangerous a career is, navy pilots need DEX 7+ to survive, compared to INT 6+ and INT 5+ for the other two specialities.
