i sorta understand the SA "stand down and be prepared to be borded"
but could somone please explain to me the method using breaching pods and how you board somone without using breaching pods?

this is for the battle of the jumpgate scenario.

thank you

Using breaching pods, you just need to make stem contact with your pod to board. No special action (and indeed, no capital ship) is required. Because your pod can attach anywhere on the victim's hull, you choose the entry point, so you get to roll your troops attack dice first.

If you don't have breaching pods you can board using the SA. This assumes your troops use some kind of shuttle (that is somehow invulnerable to AF fire... hmmm) to get to the enemy ship. This can't burn through the hull as a breaching pod can, so your troops have to go through the airlock/doors. This means defending troops can be ready, so they roll their attack dice first.
